As part of the network of German chambers abroad, 130 representations in 90 countries, EKONID is officially entitled from the German government to promote trade and investment between Germany and Indonesia. Founded in 1924 does EKONID exist in its current legal form since 1970 and managed to establish itself, with more than 90 years of market presence, as reliable partner for German and Indonesian clients.
Under the umbrella of DE international EKONID provides a wide range of services. The trade fairs department of the chamber officially represents Koelnmesse, Messe Munchen, Spielwarenmesse and Equip Auto. On a regular base we are participating with an Indonesian pavilion in cooperation with diverse ministries in some of the biggest trade fairs in Germany like BAUMA , Spoga, IMM Cologne and the Gamescom. Therefore we offer participating companies a full package of services ranging from arranging trade fair participation in Germany or Indonesia to organizing you own booth at a trade fair.

EU-Indonesia Business Network (EIBN) is the first source in Indonesia for all European firms.
It is a consortial partnership between the bilateral chambers BritCham, EKONID, IFCCI, INA, EUROCHAMBRES and CCI Barcelona together with EuroCham Indonesia. The project is running until 2018 and is supposed to promote a common and efficient EU-strategy as well as to support small and medium sized enterprises to start business in Indonesia as a gateway to ASEAN.
Kicking off with the first event in December 2010 EKONID founded a unique network of HR-professionals of member and non-member companies hosting the Human Capital Club (HCC).
Approximately every two months EKONID is hosting the HCC inviting speakers discussing current topics of HR management. In 2015 six events took place with more than 240 participants. Among other topics the new BPJS program and the new regulation of the employment of foreign workers were discussed. Further topics comprised the increasing productivity, sustainability, AEC and the Generation Y.

The German ASEAN BUSINESS COUNCIL (GABC) has been founded to offer a comprehensive ASEAN dialogue platform to all involved interest groups and to support trade and investments. The GABC is hosting the annual “ASEAN Insights” event which takes place in cooperation with a local IHK in Germany. In addition a survey is conducted as well annually in order to gain knowledge about the business sentiment of German companies within the ASEAN-region.
