The objective is to develop and formulate design principles for Science, Research and Technology (SRT) policies in developing innovation based economy.
Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and Fraunhofer Institute for Wood Research (WKI) from Germany, held the Indonesian-German Research & Innovation Network on Bio-based Polymer together with University Paderborn Germany (2015- ongoing)
The idea coming from both Indonesia & Germany. To develop new and similar product but based on local raw materials, produce in Rupiah and sell in Dollar and target moving faster.
The fact that Indonesia only exports the raw material, it will be a disadvantage for our economics and there is no development for our industries. The aim of this seminar is to develop research road map based on the industrial interest as well as to create more jobs for local citizen. Industry will involve in development including the requirements which comes from their side. Thus, the further steps is to organize the cooperation in 2 level: in order to strengthen the education through double degree (Master and Doctoral Program) with university and in industry and internship based on the interest. Just on last October 2016, the group have met again in their excusive meeting in Bandung to discuss further steps for Indonesia-German Polymer Research Center (Ig PRC).
