The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) is a political foundation with close ties to Germany Free Democrat Party (FDP).

In Germany and in 60 countries around the globe, FNF promotes democracy, market economy and human rights by organizing political education, facilitating international dialogue and by supporting publications. The foundation is funded by Germany’s parliament and cooperates with government institutions, civil society organizations and political parties. The main goals are to promote greater understanding of politics and to inspire citizens to take part in political processes. FNF has had an office in Jakarta since 1969.

Indonesia: Democracy, Social Market Economy, Human Rights, Climate Change

In Indonesia, the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) promotes Democracy, Social Market Economy and Human Rights. We also organize educational activities related to Climate Change. In cooperation with our Indonesian partners, we facilitate workshops, public discussions, international dialogues and conferences. FNF also funds publications.


IAF (International Academy for Leadeship)

Every month, NGO-activists and politicians from around the globe are invited to the IAF in Gummersbach, Germany.

The IAF is the training academy of the Friedrich Naumann-Foundation. IAF-Seminars last one to two weeks and focus on globalization, human rights, economic freedom, rule of law, strategic planning, local politics, coalition building, communications and branding, market-economy, entrepreneurship and many other issues. Over the past decades, more than 200 participants from Indonesia attended. Some of them later took up key positions in politics and civil society in Indonesia.

In Indonesia, we work with government institutions (Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Local Government of Wonosobo), political parties (PDIP, PKB, Partai Demokrat) and civil society organisations (Freedom Institute, SEJUK and LeGePe).
