Who says Indonesian textiles can only prosper in the country? Through the Shanty Couture collection, designer Shanty Sutadji inserts Indonesian textiles in a typical South German outfit, called Dirndl.
“I use almost all Indonesian textiles, depending on the prevailing trends. For example the trend in 2013 was using weaving, so I used weaving for the clothes I made. In 2018 the trend is stripes motif. So I use striated batik material.” – Shanti Sutadji.
